As a Uit Secretary you will

• Assist the nurses and CNAs with duties within the unit to assure proper documentation, assist in resident care and safety.
• Ensure the functions of the physical unit to enable the nursing staff to provide resident care in accordance with our established policies and procedures in an organized, efficient manner.
• Assist the Physician during visits as required including transcription of orders, preparing paperwork, and scheduling other consultant visits as well as scheduling transportation if required.  
• Maintain nursing form files as necessary, replace and update forms.
• Collect, assemble, check and file resident charts and personnel records as required.
• Assist Medical Records to ensure that charts are maintained and reviewed thinning excess documentation according to facility policy, reviewing for compliance, reviewing for signatures and transcriptions of orders, reviewing and submitting monthly charges, making out lab requisitions and following through on receipt of results, checking immunization records, and checking vital sign records.
• Assist Nurse Managers in various tasks including CNA and nursing assignments as approved. Create and maintain an atmosphere of warmth, person interest and positive emphasis, as well as a calm environment throughout the department.
• Attend and participate in in-service educational classes and on-the-job training programs including annual OSHA and CDC in-services training programs concerning hazard communication, TB management, and bloodborne pathogens.

• High school diploma or GED equivalent
• Must enjoy working with the senior population
• Must enjoy working as part of a team
