Mount Alverna Village is looking for a Fundraising and Development Assistant

 
Part-Time

 

Mount Alverna Village, part of Franciscan Ministries, is a vibrant senior living community located in Parma, Ohio. We are a continuing care retirement community (CCRC), offering a variety of senior lifestyle options including independent living, memory support assisted living, and skilled nursing/ long-term care. Additionally, the onsite rehabilitation clinic offers inpatient and outpatient physical, occupational, and speech therapies, and state-of-the-art programs designed to enhance the quality of life for residents and patients in the local community. We are currently looking for a Fundraising and Development Assistant to join our team!

 

 

Specific Duties and Responsibilities:

 

This position is responsible for providing assistance in securing philanthropic support for the mission of Mount Alverna Village.  Also responsible for maintaining the community’s data base and procures and cultivates long-term relationships with prospective donors, including individuals, corporations, and foundations.

 

 

  • Assessment-
  • Identifies and evaluates prospective donors (individuals, corporations, foundations, groups) for the Community through examination of past records, individual and corporate contacts, and knowledge of the community.
  • Planning and Leadership-
  • Prepares an Annual Plan of planned activities and measurable goals, enlisting support from members of the community staff and volunteer organizations
  • Develops and ensures adherence to FSCSC fundraising policies noting tools, materials and resources needed.
  •  
  • Implementation – Fundraising
  • Researches public and private grant agencies and foundations to identify sources of funding for appropriate needs, projects, opportunities for community service, and/or other projects.
  • Organizes solicitation drives for pledges of ongoing support from individuals, corporations, and foundations to the Annual Fund, Memorial Fund, and special events.
  • Assist with planning and coordination of fund drives for special projects.
  • Organizes direct mail campaign to reach other potential contributors.
  • Assist with planning and coordination of benefit events such as banquets, golf outings, or auctions.
  • Informs potential contributors of special needs of institution, and encourage individuals, corporations, and foundations to establish or contribute to special funds through endowments, trusts, donations of gifts-in-kind, or bequests, conferring with attorneys to establish methods of transferring funds to benefit both donors and institution.
  • Is responsible for writing news and feature stories for all Community activities in cooperation with the Director of Marketing.
  • May erves as spokesperson, when requested, to the community regarding the charitable needs and activities of Mount Alverna Village.
  • Documentation-
  • Processes, records, tracks all contributions
  • Possesses a working knowledge of Raiser’s Edge fundraising software.
  • Maintains accurate records of contributors and grants and prepares letters of appreciation to be sent to contributors.
  • Prepares and submits fundraising activities and income reports on a monthly and quarterly basis.
  • Other duties as assigned

 

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Bachelor level education in an applicable area of study preferred, (CFRE) Certified Fund Raising Executive and/or advanced university program certificate desired.
  • 3-5 years relevant fundraising and philanthropic experience.
  • Computer literacy.
  • Association of Fund Raising Professionals (AFP) preferred
