Position Summary
The Regional Director of Plant Operations is responsible for overseeing capital project implementation and plant maintenance monitoring to support a high standard of quality across all FM (Franciscan Ministry & FAS (Franciscan Advisory Services) communities. This role works in close collaboration with the corporate Development Team, campus Executive Directors, and Directors of Plant Operations to drive operational excellence. The Regional Director also ensures compliance with Life Safety standards and plant management policies and procedures at each campus.
Essential Functions, Key Duties, & Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the Senior Director of Plant Operations in the development of annual campus capital budgets.
- Support the Development Team in campus renovation and remodeling projects, including:
- Assisting with project phasing and scheduling.
- Overseeing bidding, design, and permitting processes as needed.
- Participating in product selection and design decisions.
- Managing construction activities, attending OAC (Owner-Architect-Contractor) meetings, and providing regular progress reports.
- Ensuring compliance with permitting requirements, state regulatory and licensing standards, and other relevant guidelines.
- Representing ownership during construction, including coordination with various oversight agencies.
- Reviewing and approving payment applications, change orders, and project submittals.
- Support campuses in maintaining compliance with Life Safety standards:
- Review Life Safety guidelines annually with Plant Maintenance Directors.
- Regularly review and update campus Life Safety manuals.
- Review that all Life Safety drills are conducted on a routine basis and all related logs are up to date.
- Conduct periodic campus visits to evaluate building and grounds conditions.
- Partner with the Senior Director of Plant Operations to review and update preventative maintenance contracts annually.
- Participate in monthly meetings with FM & FAS Plant Maintenance Directors to support operational alignment and goal setting.
- Contribute to the recruitment and selection of Plant Maintenance staff across campuses.
- Assist in reviewing and updating the list of preferred campus vendors on a regular basis.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Comply with all policies and procedures and any updates.
Position Requirements
Education: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent facility experience required; degrees or certificates/licenses in project management, construction management, or specialized trade field are favorable.
Experience: 5+ years of experience in physical plant management or commercial construction management, preferably in the healthcare industry

Travel: Extensive travel is required to different communities in different states depending on community oversight needs and ongoing capital projects.
