Overview

Franciscan Ministries is seeking a mission-driven, creative, and detail-oriented Graphic Designer & Project Coordinator with a strong design portfolio and experience in project coordination or traffic management to join our Creative Services team—a small, in-house agency supporting marketing and communications across our faith-based ministry.

 

This newly created hybrid role uniquely combines hands-on creative work with project coordination. The ideal candidate will produce compelling visual content across digital and print platforms, support project workflows, and help maintain brand consistency across the organization. Experience with Digital Asset Management (DAM) platforms such as Brandworkz, and familiarity with social media scheduling tools, is strongly preferred.

 

We are looking for a versatile and proactive professional—a concept-to-completion thinker—who can design engaging creative assets and manage the day-to-day flow of marketing projects. This position is based in Lemont, IL and reports directly to the Director of Marketing and Creative Services.

 

Position Summary

In this role, you will be responsible for combining hands-on creative work with project coordination. The Graphic Designer & Project Coordinator will produce compelling visual content across digital and print platforms, support project workflows, and help maintain brand consistency across the organization. This position will leverage Digital Asset Management (DAM) platforms and social media scheduling tools to design engaging creative assets and manage the day-to-day flow of marketing projects. This position reports directly to the Director of Marketing and Creative Services.

 

Essential Functions, Key Duties, & Responsibilities

Digital and Print Graphic Design

  • Design high-quality graphics for digital platforms (web, email, social media) and print materials (brochures, flyers, signage, etc.).
  • Collaborate with marketing, communications, and internal stakeholders to develop visual assets that align with campaign goals.
  • Manage multiple design projects from concept to completion while meeting deadlines and brand standards.
  • Maintain and organize creative assets, templates, and brand guidelines using DAM tools.
  • Provide copywriting, content development, and proofreading support.

Project Coordination

  • Manage the intake and flow of creative projects across the in-house agency.
  • Track project timelines, deliverables, and approvals to ensure deadlines are met.
  • Act as a liaison between internal departments and the creative team to clarify project requirements and expectations.
  • Coordinate timelines and resources across departments to align with project goals.
  • Work with vendors (e.g., printers) to ensure successful execution of print and production materials.
  • Support the creative team with administrative, scheduling, and traffic-related tasks.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Comply with all policies and procedures and any updates.

Position Requirements

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design, Visual Communications, Marketing, or a related field       

Licenses/Certifications: N/A

Experience: 3+ years of experience in digital and print graphic design

Skills & Abilities:

  • Strong portfolio showcasing design and creative skills
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop)
  • Familiarity with social media platforms (Facebook, LinkedIn, etc.)
  • Familiarity with scheduling tools (Hootsuite, Buffer, etc.)
  • Basic knowledge of project management tools (Smartsheet, Trello, Wrike, etc.)
  • Familiarity with basic HTML, email design, and web tools (Figma, Canva, WordPress, etc.)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Exceptional organizational and time management skills
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Experience working within brand guidelines in a collaborative environment
  • Experience in DAM Platforms; Brandworkz preferred
  • Experience working in an agency or managing multiple concurrent projects preferred
