Position Summary
In this role, you will be responsible for the day-to-day service operations within specified areas of Dining Services. The Supervisor of Dining Services helps to guarantee the highest quality program for the residents and ensures that infection control programs and safe food handling procedures are followed in compliance with State and Federal Codes.
Essential Functions, Key Duties, & Responsibilities
- Supervise and lead associates in providing the highest quality food and services for all residents and dining guests.
- Ensure the dining room is sanitary, organized, and fully stocked at all times.

- Train new staff in fine-dining principles, service etiquette, and other dining services skills.
- Verify that all job cards (cleaning lists and side work) are being completed for each shift.
- Assign or complete the closing check-out list at the end of the shift.
- Interview, select, and hire new staff members in conjunction with the rest of the dining services leadership team and the human resources department.
- Discipline and terminate associates in conjunction with the rest of the dining services leadership team and the human resources department.
- Assist with the oversight and development of the dining services bi-weekly schedule based on the department’s budget.
- With input from the rest of the dining services leadership team, aid in developing meals and menus and ensure that the menus are clearly communicated to the dining services associates and the residents.
- Conduct daily pre-service meeting and documentation for each meal.
- Review daily associate assignments, the menu, food ingredients (gluten-free, allergens, etc.) and communicate new policies/procedures or other pertinent information to the associates.
- Enforce the uniform policy and temperature-control procedures.
- Monitor and document inventory and communicate needs to the rest of the dining services leadership team for ordering purposes.
- Track customer satisfaction by reviewing comment cards using the designated form and communicate results to the team.

Position Requirements
Education: High School Diploma/GED required; associate’s degree in food service preferred
Licenses/Certifications: Food Handler’s certificate or other required certification as specified by state guidelines
Experience: 3+ years in food service
